It's best to adjust the BFO carrier frequencies pursuant to the Ten-Tec
manual. Adjusting the BFO by ear will likely yield an inaccurate frequency
display when you are netted in SSB or zero beat with the SPOT oscillator on
CW. However, oftentimes the result is "thinner" received audio on SSB when
the manual's frequencies are used. Some Ten-Tec filters are better than
others, depending on the filter symmetry. The INRAD filters appear to be
more symmetrical across production samples.
