The VOX/PTT switch is a SPST switch
that connects / disconnects the collector of an
NPN transistor to pin 3 of the mic connector.

Switching to VOX position, this line is opened,
disabling the PTT signal from the 705 circuitry.

In the PTT position, the connection is completed,
and the Corsair TX is controlled by the buttons on the 705.

( Provided of course, that the VOX switch on your CII is off ! )
If it is on, then the CII ignores input level to pin 3 on its mic connector.
So then, you might as well leave the VOX / PTTswitch
on the bottom of the 705 in the PTT position all the time )

Have you noticed low output from the 705 into your CII ?
What position do you set the drive pot ?

I have a 705 mic also, and noticed a rather low output,
I gotta crank the drive pot on the front of my CII
all the way to max and then speak close to the mic
to achieve barely adequate drive level.

Something ain't right here ...
My other mics work fine on my Corsair II ...
Would appreciate any comments ...
