No one will ever know for sure. When I asked TenTec this question, the
answer was "We didn't think anyone needed it". Yes, they figured since you
had the a/b = buttons that you would be so engrossed in button pushing that
you'd never notice the lack of RIT. Even to this day, some folks think it's
the way to go. I believe it was just a lack of practically on someone's part
and it was corrected on the Omni 6.
