There's always an ICOM.
You need a panadapter for the first IF frequency. Something above 30 MHz
in the Omni isn't it that taps on to the output of the first mixer
before any filtering. It might need to tap at the input of the first
mixer, both signal and LO. Probably be easiest to start with an SM-220
or equivalent Heathkit and add a mixer with a crystal controlled
oscillator to look at that first IF frequency. Else if the first IF is 9
MHz then you could start with a pretty much stock SM-220 for 8.8 MHz and
warp it a bit...
