Thanks to all respondents, but especially OJ, K1OJ and Jim, K2ZF for
pointing to the power supply as most likely source of the problem.
Remedied as follows:
1) Took rig to N6GSG's shack up the hill, sans all cables except p.s.
2) Substituted Marine battery for p.s. - AOK.
3) Reconnected the p.s. - RF leakage again.
4) Dismantled the Astron supply, checked and tightened all connections;
checked voltage and ripple, reattached grounds.
5) Reconnected to the OMNI V - problem gone.
6) "Stressed" the p.s. to >25 amps, where fold-back finally occurred.
7) Returned home and immediately worked EA8CN, ZL1CH and FO0CLA in rapid
succession on 30 m cw.
