A handy technique for one shot panels is to make the labels with india
ink and a Leroy lettering set. India ink stick well to freshly painted
panels, then cover the india ink with a coat or two of clear. In my
experience the Rustoleum sprays wear better than Krylon. And both wear a
lot better if cured at 150 - 180°F. I've not looked closely at the older
Tentec front panels but I suspect the original lettering art work may
have been created with a Leroy set. It was a standard font in
engineering establishments 30+ years ago. Just a week or so ago I was
rebuilding a noise figure power supply that I labeled (without the
Leroy) with india ink and clear Rustoleum at least 35 years ago. Still
in good shape.
