I'm interested in getting an HF rig with a really fine receiver section.
Priority is CW, but I need SSB as well. I owned a 509 Argonaut about 20
years ago, and really liked the clean sounding receiver. I have not found
the YaeComWood rigs to have receivers that measure up to Ten-Tec.
I'd like an Omni VI+, but the finances will not withstand that at present.
Someone suggested that I could buy a used Omni V for about $1000, and get a
really good receiver in the process. Is this about the going rate ? How much
would Ten-Tec charge to completely check and realign an Omni V ?
Any other suggestions on how to get a really good receiver section in a
transceiver for around $ 1000 ?
Sincerely,
Pete KF5ND
