OK... After a beer ( OK.. two!! ) to calm down and help me think, here =
is what I did to repair the Scout 555.
I stuck a piece of adhesive tape onto the face of the meter and pulled =
it back into place.
I then applied small amounts of super glue around the seam to hold it =
there.
The radio now works like it should and I am no longer miffed about the =
whole thing.
Please disregard my previous offer to sell the Scout 555 as I really do =
like it for mobile use.
Once again good old American ingenuity has saved the day.

Well I got my Ten Tec 555 Scout back today. Dont know if it works or =
not. I am afraid to power it up.
It seems that after repairing it the person that packed it for =
shipping punched in the SWR /Power Meter.
I am scared if I power it up the meter connections may short against =
something and burn up a part.
I tried to get to it by removing the top and bottom covers and even =
tried to remove the front plastic face but no go.
It seem to require some major dissassimbly just to get to the back of =
the meter.

So...... I guess I need to spend more money on shipping and sales tax =
and wait another two weeks.....

Or...... I could just sell it as is to someone for $465 and let them =
send it back to Ten Tec. Any takers???
