I have an elderly friend who purchased a new Paragon II in 1996. He =
had a technician license, and hoped to upgrade to general. Due to =
declining health, he was never able to upgrade, and has lost interest in =
the radio.

It was used to transmit only once when I set it up for him, and =
checked it out by making a single contact. He also used the radio on =
several occasions for short wave listening. He is a non-smoker, and has =
kept the radio covered with a towel. I looked at it yesterday, and I =
couldn't find a blemish on it anywhere.

He wants to sell it. It has the full set of filters (2.4 through =
250), and the hand-held mike. He paid $2062 for it in 1996. What would =
be a fair, realistic price? Any comments would be welcome. If you are =
interested, you will enjoy dealing with the owner, Mr. Tom Redmond, a =
gentleman of the highest integrity (KE4YKK).
