You need the 6khz filter for the 9mhz I.F. stage. Usually those are already
installed. If you don't have that filter, you can jumper across the socket
and accept the broader bandwith which actually sounds better. On my Paragon
II, to transmitt AM, you push both the AM and LSB buttons in. Also, check
your squelch control to be sure it's not cranked too far clockwise.
