Been following the thread on the Omni VI+ and RF and all I can say is,
"Been there, done that". The Omni VI is a great rig, I love it and I
would buy it again in a minute! However, being a "great" rig does not
mean it is a perfect rig (which hasn't been built yet).
Based on my experience and those of others on this reflector, RF
bypassing does seem to be a weak point in an otherwise excellent rig.
TT, if you ever build an Omni 7, please, please don't spare the bypass
caps and/or ferrite beads on EVERY port/plug/connector on the radio. So
what if it adds another 20 or 30 bucks-it will save untold grief down
the road.
Just my 2 cents worth; and please, no flames- I wouln't part with my Six
for anything (well OK, an Omni Seven)
