Subject: Computer Rigs
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Wow, I am totally amazed at all this interest in a computer rig. This
note is NOT a flame. I guess I am an old ham and thus find a computer
rig totally a non issue. I have absolutely, and I mean absolutely no
interest in this type rig. I see guys buying programs so they can
program their 2 meter rigs as it is too difficullt to do without a
program. I see guys having to program their squelch control. All I
have to do is turn a knob and not have to remember what page to turn to
on the truth table to program something. I also own too many different
rigs to get that used to a rig to be able to remember how operate it.
Apparently others do like this kind of radio, and that is OK with me. I
know many disagree with me, and that's fine. I'm just stating a fact
that the interest is ZERO with me and compared to what I read on hear,
this is very unusual. I'm awe struck on how much different others feel
compared to my own thoughts. I guess it will be Y2K compatible and since
I hope I will be around to 3K, is this rig going to be 3K compatible and
will DOS and Windows still be around? I know where I work, there always
seems to be a qlitch down the road when some other company ties into our
system when either one of us makes a software or hardware change. When
you have a power failure at Field Day, how long does it take to re-boot
the rig? When someone buys this new rig and has a Omni XI Plus to get
rid of, please sell it to me. I'm serious. Lee Bahr w0vt
