Greg,
There is quite a bit of circuitry in the band module, making it a small but
expensive to duplicate box on a one off basis.
There is an oscillator, mixer, crystal, Low pass filter for the final, etc.
Without even considering the mixer byproducts which might be objectionable,
you will suffer losses doing it that way.
Probably as cheap to buy a transverter kit from Ten Tec made and optimized for
6 meters to 20 meters. Layout, and such would complicate your rolling your
own for the band in the confines of the plug in module. Most folks don't
realize there are a couple of circuit boards in there!! A well done, but busy
little place.
