Another question for the ten tec reflector group:
What are the big differences between the Paragon and Paragon II? Is the
Giehl chip usable in both rigs? Does it make that much of a difference
installing the chip? Is the Giehl chip still available and how difficult is
it to install? Would it make sense to purchase or swap these rigs for an
ICOM 761 HF rig? How many Paragon II's were actually made by Ten Tec. I
tried to do some research by looking back in QST and CQ Magazines. It looks
like the Paragon II was only made for a short time sometime during 1993 and
1994? Why did TT stop production? Does anyone out there have a review from
QST, CQ or 73 Magazine for the Paragon II. I have the review of the
Paragon, but I would like to see what was said about the Paragon II. It
looks like it had some more up to date features like its big brother the
OMNI VI which I already own as well as a Corsair II HF rig.
Does anyone have one of these rigs in pristine condition loaded with FM
board, filters etc. for sale, trade/swap for an ICOM 761 with SP-20 and
SM-8 mic? My has lower hour usage and it is like "new" pristine condition.
