Reconsider those miniature electrolytics. When they get leaky and
explode they shower their neighborhood with conductive electrolyte, foil
and crepe paper. But their more common failure mode is loosing capacity
so they don't bypass or couple well.
My Corsair owner's manual covers the dial replacement, otherwise it just
slides off. The instructions with the PTO rebuild kit get more detailed
inside.
