The nice thing about the rebuild kit is that you get a new bearing race
and three new ball bearings. The bearings act as a planetary mechanism
to give the speed difference between the two shafts. The new item is
made out of brass instead of plastic. I have found the plastic parts
worn or broken in all the PTO's I have opened in Tritons and Omni letter
series. Its only twenty bucks to get a much better PTO after the
rebuild.

You can never get enough lubricant into the PTO to loosen the grease
that is packed in the hollow shaft for the bearings without flooding the
inside of the PTO.
