I've had this happen to me twice in a year of owning an Omni VI w/Option 1,
but on 40 meters. I can't explain it, but I know what to do about it.
Forget the master reset--it doesn't help and erases your memories. If a
partial reset doesn't help, turn the radio off, *and* turn off the power
supply. Leave everything off for several minutes, and you'll find the
problem has gone away.

It appears that something gets "glitched" with (perhaps) an improper
voltage, and you have to power down completely and give all capacitors time
to discharge. Somebody else mentioned this a while back. It's also
possible that turning off the crystal oven does something thermal that
breaks whatever "loop" the circuitry has gotten into.

Perhaps this information will help you (or Ten-Tec) diagnose the problem.
When the receive chirp first occurred, I tried everything I could think
of--resets, power off, etc. I gave up and went to bed. The next morning
everything worked fine. When it happened again several months later, I
played my hunch and just turned everything off for about 5 or 10
minutes--problem solved.

Hope this helps. If anyone else has any comments or further information
about this issue, please post.
