Dear Dave, here is an answer to your question. Others probably have
more answers for you. Why do we often own several of the same model
(and I will add, more Ten-Tecs than we need)?

It is "love." The head knows it makes no sense, but the heart -- now
that is a different story. If I own and love my Triton 544, when
another one comes along at a bargain (or close to it) I have a hard time
passing it by. Then I nurture the new one until it is all it can be,
and "bingo" I am in love all over again.

Somehow, I got to fixing them up for other people (no longer do that)
instead of for myself, and that helped the addiction. Presently own 5
Ten-Tecs. Don't need but one (and maybe a spare), but which one to let
go? Alas, I cannot decide. None duplicate the others except the Argosy
525 and Argosy 525D are close.

If there is a Zen radio, it is a Ten-Tec. The rigs do not intrude into
the communication (at least not up to my Corsair II, can't speak for the
fancier ones), but fade into the background leaving what seems almost a
direct conversation with the other fella. To me, that is the Magic of
Ten-Tec rigs and the source of the love.

Ah, well. . . 73 de N4NT@bnoc.net
