I have never owned or operated a 444 amp (although I do have a manual)
but I believe that other than both amps claiming to be solid state and
QSK they have little else in common. I bought the 420 back in '89 and
have used it extensively, particularily on cw and consider the amp as
one of the best "buy" decisions I've made in my ham radio career. It's
never given me a bit of trouble and turns the Paragon into a 550+ watt
