Hello Everyone:
When I came home for lunch today I saw
this big ol' brown box sitting on my front
porch in front of the door. The sender
was some outfit called 'Ten Tec'.
When I opened the box I saw this big
ol' radio in it. When I removed the
radio from the box I heard something
rattling around. Not a good sign.
I took the top cover off but didn't see
anything loose. I replaced that and removed
the bottom cover where I found that the
2.4khz filter in the 6.3mhz if had popped
out of the board.
I replaced that, and noticed that it seemed
to be a tad looser in the sockets than the
other filters in that board. Since the filters
are in an "upside down" position I hope this
one doesn't work its way back out over time.
I haven't had a chance to try all of the new functions,
but I have listened a bit and everything I've tried seems
to be working fine. I'll give it a more thorough check
when I come home from work today.
One thing I did notice was that someone at Ten Tec
with a stronger wrist and fingers than mine had tightened
up the "dial drag" quite a bit, so I'll have to readjust it
later. Not a criticism, just an observation.

Mike
