Scott at TT advised me that there have been occasions where some of the Heil
mikes worked fine on the VI and VI+ with vox and others didn't. I think it
may be the freq response of the operator, or it may just be the vox circuit
hates the sound of my voice. I'll have to see how it responds to my XYL's
voice for kicks before I make the modification.

Subject: Re: [TenTec] Omni Vox
------------------------------------------------
hello Rick,
I don't believe I ever caught ur initial post to the reflector, but I run an
omni 5 with an HC-5 with no problems. I run vox all the time, and on
occassion,
it will get stubborn and i'll readjust and then it's fine again. Maybe the
pot
values, due to wiper contact, drift a little bit with time. I can tell u that
speaker audio does have a large effect on your vox settings. I very seldom
ever
use headphones. try placing your speaker in a different position or angle
relative to your microphone. That should probably do the trick.
Good Luck!

Jay, KM6VX
Did anyone come up with a solution to increase the vox response while using a
Heil HC-5? Is an adjustment to R65 all that is needed?
