I was thinking about my Corsair II. One of the things that always
annoyed me was the fact that the on/off switch really doesn't switch
the 12V. The current setup is OK if you have the matching power
supply but I don't. I have a spare 12V power supply with the 1140 (?)
breaker.
First of all, how good is this breaker at protecting the finals? Did
they discontinue the sale of the breaker because it didn't work?
Also, I wanted to install the breaker as well as another relay within
the Corsair II. While the extra relay can be placed pretty much anywhere,
I wanted the on/off switch of the 1140 breaker to be accessible since
it would be annoying to have to pop the hood to reset the breaker.
In the RF compartment, there is an extra access hole in the corner.
I asked TenTec about this hole. It is used in the disassembly of the
rig.
What do you guys think about mounting the breaker through this hole?
The problem that I forsee is RF getting into the 12V line. Would
shielding borrowed from a cable help?
