My friend Alan came over the other day with his Corsair I to
try out the 8 pole filter in it. I noticed his display went
flakey, some pieces of each digit going blank or dim and the
numbers look funny. Well, my Corsair II has the same problem
intermittently.
I had called Ten Tec about this before and they said clean all
the connectors in there. Someone here also advised that. I
tried it and it was really simple to get in there and remove the
little board with the display numbers and clean the contacts
and spray them with DeOxit. It all works fine now.
So, just wanted to relate that. If your corsair has intermittent
strange display problems, just take the aluminum cover off the
display box inside the case (4 screws) and then remove the
display board (2 little boards connected, 2 screws on the bottom
of it), take the connectors apart and clean / spray them
lightly, reassemble and you are in good shape.
I really like the Corsair.
