Well I seem to go in cycle's and I'm back on my QRP kick. I am
interested in putting together a nice QRP package for SSB. QST has
recently published a small SSB QRP project. I also saw that ARS has the
MFJ Travel radio's for $229. What I am wonder is those of you who have
tried these various rigs how do they compare. I already know that you can
switchbands with the 556 but what I really want to know is am I going to
notice a difference on 20m in the field with a make shift wire antenna. I
am also curious about what kind of battery supply I will need to say
listen for maybe 6hr's X-mit for 30min. I know the Argo doesn't have to
power the finalss like the scout and Ten-Tec told me they use aprox 2amps
on X-mit how much on receive??? Please feel free to reply to the
reflector or to me directly.
Thanks
