Tree,
I'm sure you know that the latest versions are more RAM-hungry than before.
This is especially bad when using the DVP driver (in a fone contest, of
course). After several hundred QSOs (600-800 is my guess), the program
starts shutting down functionality. As expected, SCP goes away first.
However, it also gets less stable; I've had crashes during CQP (mixed mode)
and CQWW (fone) after reaching this number of Qs. Unscientifically, I
*think* it gradually worsen with more Qs.
(OTOH, it still is logging 'em past 2200 total Qs. Guess I'm not capable of
making enough to bog it down completely!)
Any plans to address this, or is it better to revert to older versions if we
must operate voice?
FWIW: I've tried DOS 6.22 with aggressive MEMMAKER--but with SMARTDRIVE. For
me, Windoze 98SE shelled to DOS provides a few more bytes of RAM. Also, my
CTY.Dat files are ancient and have very few "special calls".
