John-
I am not very optimistic about this working since the Kenwood command
didn't work before. There are differences - but I think there should
have been a few things that worked.
I am also somewhat pissed at Yaesu - they OBVIOUSLY copied the Kenwood
command set - but then messed around with it enough to make them enough
different.
There are also some obvious documentation errors - or else very strange
programming - like when setting VFO A's frequency, you use 8 characters
for the frequency, but when setting VFO B's, you use 11. Kenwood uses
11.

At any rate - give this a try. If nothing works, do TR RADIODEBUG and
send me the COMx.BIN files and we'll see if anything is coming back from
the radio. They weren't real clear about the serial port parameters, so
if there is nothing in the *IN.BIN files, then you need to do TR
LOOPBACK and mess with the parameters until you start seeing responses
when you type IF; (IF semicolon) that look like IF, a bunch of
numbers and then a semi-colon at the end.
Currently, I am using 8 bits at 4800 baud no parity and 2 stop bits.
Maybe they want 7 bits, even parity or something like that?
