I'm no computer wonk, but my setup differs a little from
yours.
I have no smartdrv statement in config.sys
In my autoexec.bat, there is LH C:\dos\smartdrv c+
In config.sys, I have NOEMS after emm386.exe
If you just type smartdrv at the c: prompt, does "yes" show
up for C: write cache?
I'm running a 250 MB DOS 6.22 HD out of my old 486. It's a
second HD in a really fast computer. No delays.
