Some of us still do. My network for multi-multi contesting uses PCs that are
running DOS as the OS. TRLog, DOS 6.22 and some control files are all that
are installed on the machines.

The network flows spots to each band position from a Window's machine using
Telenet. Log data, oper comments and band freq information also flow on this
network. Each PC runs the radio interface, DVK or CW/PTT. SCP is on.
All TRLog features are on. Some positions have rotor control.

The network PCs was upgraded in the past ten years as features were added.
It started with 286 to 486/50, to 486/100 and now P/90 which I do not believe
TRLog can exceed. All PC's are identical with the same autoexec and system
control files.

No keystroke delays while keyboarding. The network does not crash. No odd
behavior or quirks noted in a 48 hour full blast multi-op contest.

I do not use TRLog and its SO2R features so I do not see the "on deck",
bandmap errors, etc. mentioned here on the reflector. I use a two PC
network for SO2R which is a bit easer for me as most of it is already set up.
I do believe TRLog's SO2R power is probably its main selling point now.

At times I also find things hard to find in the manual so Doc's new version
will
be appreciated here. Non TRloggers at my station complain about the Ctl J
menu and not being able to find things quickly. Features were added over the
years, often starting with the verb and not the subject. Try finding "leave
cursor
in call window" if you didn't know the command. A new orderly Ctl J menu
with subject order index would be helpful.
