Good post from Tod on different serial port addresses. However, please keep in mind that there are some 64,000+ port addresses available, and some of them do not take kindly to even being interrogated as to their status, and can cause severe...as in failure....damage if an attempt to write to them is done. If you generally stay in the low areas, you should be OK. BUT, before you do anything, take a look at the port addresses for your HD and math coprocessor. Avoid anything near them like the plaque! 73 Ed |
