Greetings, all
I've recently came upon an old 486dx (25 MHz) laptop. After deleting
everything but DOS 6.22 off the drive, I installed TR. TR runs fine. The
serial port works, and controls the rig. But the LPT port is acting very
strange.
Whenever the LPT port keying/ptt/paddle adapter is connected, the PTT is
activated, and alternating Morse dots and dashes (di-dah-di-dah-di-dah...)
are sent at whatever speed TR is set to. It seems that something is shorted
in the LPT port on the PC. This same LPT adapter works fine on my regular
DOS PC. It works fine on my LINUX box, too.
The offending laptop in question is an ALR Ranger, circa early 1990s. I ran
CheckIt diagnostic software on it, and it found no problems.
Anyone else seen anything like this?
Thanks in advance!!
