An interesting idea. I think we should set up a pool on when TR will be
gone. If so, you had better pick a date long into the future.
I have been associated with the 'demise' of a number of software
packages --- at least we wanted them to 'go away'. They (or their users)
refused to stop using them. Probably the most interesting example of
'eternal life for operating system & programs' is that IBM was required to
provide 1400 series emulation on new computer models for years and years
after it had stopped producing (and supporting) 1400's and the programs they
used. It seemed that the users found that the programs did the job they
wanted done and they (the users) were not at all interested in spending more
money to do something differently that they were doing just fine already.
