Subject: Re: [Trlog] Radio Control using USB serial port adapter / or
newinterface
I am not a techie. What I would like to do withe W98SE is to click on the
MS-DOS icon and be able to send cw through my serial port 1 DB-9 -
non-belkin, non-usb. Radio control would be through the USB to serial
adapter.

Prior to the USB to serial adapter, I keyed through serial port 1 DB-9 after
creating a shortcut to DOS. This worked after I failed to get it to work by
first clicking on the MS-DOS icon or by rebooting in MS-DOS. I have been
using this for about 18 months. I have never been able to use CW/PTT on
serial port 1 DB-9 with TR log. My error I am sure as there must be
something in the transition from W98 to DOS mode.

This is not a DOS only adapter. I bought it to use with MMTTY and Writelog.
It has an set-up option for box only. The adapter is a Belkin F5U103.
Works very well under W98. I have a CW / PTT interface that works well,
under the W98, just not under the MS-DOS prompt or via reboot to DOS.
