Well, if the MP turns it off when you go a->b, then we would have to
add something to the stream from TR to turn it back on.

Do you have a list of circumstances like this you have discovered?

Another confusion of mine, apparently, I was thinking that the hex
codes are interpreted by TR and it then did something. Is it true that
the hex codes are simply passed on to the MP and not interpreted by
TR?

That being the case, do the TR folks have the official unpublished
Yaesu commands list somewhere, e.g. corrections, deletions, and
additions to the list in the manual?
