ARRL has changed the rules for Field Day. DX stations are now supposed to send
class and "DX", e.g., "2A DX" when you work them during FD.
(a) Version 6.67 does not permit input of "DX" but only of the class for
stations outside the U.S. and Canada. Why not? Field Day ops are not all
likely to be experienced TR Log users.
(b) Even when input is successful, the log does not show the official ARRL
report (e.g., 2A DX) but rather the class (e.g., 2A) plus the country prefix
(e.g., CE). There seems to be no selection in POST that translates this into
the official version.
Of course, Field Day submissions require only a dupe sheet and not a detail
log. However, random FD ops may be confused by the refusal of TR Log to accept
the official ARRL exchange and also by the log's refusal to show the official
ARRL exchange.
Can this be smoothed out by June 22?
Thanks and 73,
Paul W8TM
