I have compiled a brief set of non-technical notes on using the SBDVP
soundcard voice keyer software, based on my own experience. My hope is
that non-technical people like me will find these notes help them get the
software set up and operating properly with TRLog.
The notes are currently located at www.pvrc.org/save/SBDVP.htm. My setup
uses Windows 98 SE and a true SB-16 ISA sound card, so it's a real
possibility that other operating systems or sound cards may be
different. I don't know, for example, if the Windows 95 audio mixer is as
flexible as that in Windows 98 SE, or if the mixer's properties are
hardware-dependent to any extent. This is one of the areas I'd appreciate
comments on -- do my suggestions square with your experience, and if not,
in what ways? Also, I'm pretty close to the subject, so I don't know if my
explanations are clear enough. If not, where do the problems lie?
Please send me your comments.
