Here's how I do it:
LPT1 - paddle input and A/B relay (switches merged mike/voicekeyer audio)
COM1 - rig 1 radio control and cw keying
COM2 - rig 2 radio control and cw keying
No ptt, all vox.
When using the LPT port for both of those functions, you need
a 12 volt wall wart (for the relay) and a 5 volt regulator
for the paddle pull-ups. The regulator is just a resistor/5V zener
off the 12v wall wart.
I had RF problems when using LPT cw keying, but I never tried
an optoisolator or relay, just an npn transistor. Since you
need two com ports anyway for rig control, it was just as easy
to do the cw keying on the same com ports. The com ports are
more immune to RF for some reason.
