I don't know if he's still in business, but there was a ham
in Maine who made these interfaces for far less $$ then what
Kenwood charges. I believe, however, that these are not
opto-isolated. Regardless, I have used them for several
years without problems.
Also, several years ago QST published a design which was
universal (jumpers or DIP switches) and so would work with
Kenwood, ICOM, and Yaesu.
