I was surprised to see you have the problem with Kenwood. A
simular failure mode was described on this reflector awhile ago
and seemed related to the Icom's radio interface software and
not RFI.
At one time this problem was consistant enough to prevent me
from using the interface to the Icom radios. Tree worked on the
problem, discovered the source of the error and wrote a fix. I
remember he reported the failure mode, but this may have been
direct e-mail to me as at the time it seemed to be a problem
with the 781 radios which were not very popular.
The "fix" completely solved my problem, but for the first time
in a long whille I did see the error during the WW phone with
the 781 on the 40 meter position. It happened off and on for a
short time and then went away. Allowing the error to run off the
edit window crashed the PC so I fixed them as they poped up.
Another 781 on 20 meters running full blast for the full 48 hours
never blinked. As this position is identical to 40 using the same
model PC and version of TRLog I wrote it off as a non-software
issue.
