Hi folks.
Have only had TR since September, so started with 6.52.
The manual is BIG, but apparently missing simple key words, so one can =
look up, get to the page and find out how to do.
1.
I should switch off the monitor for my CW weekend.
Looked for
Monitor off/on
CW monitor off/on
Sound off/on.
In CTRL J i found
cw tone =3D 700 Hz - so changed that to 0 and no CW monitor any =
more in that contest.
It only took 1 hour !!!!!!
2.
As I have had 2 HD crashes since I started in 1984, I want a back up =
when operating.
Looked for=20
auto save
back up
in CTRL J found
Floppy file save frequency =3D 0 ( I put it to 10)
Floppy file save name =3D ?????
(for me a Floppy is a:\)
It seems like it all goes to c:\ ????
I have tried to write
Floppy file save name =3D a:\ (not possible) a: (not possible) =
but a:\backup works, however my CQWW SSB file was only 51.000 =
bytes and there was 1.3 Mb on the floppy, however I had my log as the =
very last one on that floppy.
What shall I do ????????
I had worked 617 QSO's
If my default for back up is for every 10 QSOs, what about the missing 7 =
???
I can see I have
ALT F for floppy save - will that be the last step to do before exiting =
the program ????
I know the rule on leaving the program. When contest is over, that last =
5 QSOs (normally in the temp file) are also being backed up.
3.
Zones
Just finished the CQWW SSB contest on 10 meters, and have not found a =
zone map yet.
Have looked up, but no luck. - When working such a contest, it should be =
possible to check worked or missing zones immediately, and the program =
can do it, but I have no idea, what to search for, so I can do it?
Any help?
I have spent many hours reading the manual, sitting next to my computer =
and trying different things, but I need many more hours there.
Have a piece of paper of corrections I must do with CTRL J before =
entering a contest, but not sure I have all Yet.
A standard procedure for the major contests should be of great value. =
(or You can call it Quick Start).
It is a pleasure working contest with the program, learning more and =
more every day.
But I need well known key words in the Manual, so I can look up what I =
want.
