First of all, don't put down your Dell laptop. A DOS program like TR will
run on just about anything, so there's no need for a 1 GHz Pentium.
Regarding the packet baud rates, if both 1200 and 4800 work to your
satisfaction then either is fine. Technically, however, the higher baud
rate will let your computer spend less time communicating with your TNC and
more time will be available for other functions. I'd suggest going with the
highest baud rate that works for you.
