One of the two laptops at our FD 'site' was a 286. Talk about a throwback!!
Operator ability was not the only thing to limit the rate on SSB....the 286
could hardly keep up with a rate over 130. I had to adjust my TU remarks to
take up the time it took for TR and the 286 to finally clear the field for
the next entry. After a bit, I learned to type ahead...by the time the
other station was giving his report, the cursor was just then dropping down
to the exchange field.
And I thought my P100 at home was slow!!!
