Bob,
    You're missing the point, a logging program should allow
you to edit in real time to maintain an up to date and accurate log.
A contest program should allow you to work quickly.
Shutting down, running an editor, and restarting TR is not
very quick ...not to mention A LOT of extra unnecessary work.
Control - N is only a band-aid that does nothing for real time accuracy.
