Correct. I wanted to use the same CTY.DAT file format as CT9, so it
was necessary for TR to decide the right zone. It puts UA8 calls in
zone 18, UA9A/C/D/F/G/J/K/L/M/N/Q/R/S/T/W/X in zone 17, UA9H/O/U/Y/Z
in zone 18. UA0A/B/H/O/S/U/W in zone 18. UA0C/D/E/F/I/J/K/L/Q/X/Z
in zone 19 and UA0Y is zone 23. There is a similar list for the
IARU zones.
For the sunrise / sunset stuff, currently, I use a central grid square
for the ITU zone. However, I am implenting a new grid square default
by oblast instead that should give much better data.
