Brian,
I'm using the MFJ voice keyer with TRLOG. It works fine but I hope you get a
response from somebody who knows what they're doing with electronic circuits.
I don't even pretend to know what I'm doing. I have simply used the same
2N2222 triggers (that are used for CW keying) connected to the four parrallel
port pinouts called out in the TR manual to fire miniature 5+ VDC relays on
the pin outs of the MFJ. I ended up using a separate power supply (isolated
from the computer, the rig AND the MFJ's 5+ VDC output) to get it running. I
had bad audio distortion until I ran the relays off their own isolated supply.
I used 5+ VDC relays thinking I could run them from MFJ's internal power
supply. I was wrong! There's GOT to be a better way, but once I got it
working, I didn't spend any more time refining it. It is really neat to be
able to run all four voice memories from the keyboard now however. I had been
punching the buttons on the MFJ, previously, and it sure got annoying chasing
that light weight box accross the desk.
Good luck,
Bob Evans
