The problem is that the automatic changeover requires you to
move at least 1kHz in 1 second. Sometimes it works and sometimes
it doesn't. Maybe it should be modified, assuming it's possible, to
change after that 1kHz (or 900Hz) regardless of time?
I'd like to see a little notice which tells me I've changed at least 5kHz
(4999Hz) since the last QSO and can now call CQ again. Maybe a little
traffic light marked 5kHz with a light which shows either red or green.

I agree. If you tune the big knob slowly enough, you can travel the
whole band without changing modes. A programmable threshold might be
nice.
