Hi, Butch,
I also use LOG-EQF as my master logging program. All my TR contest files
are made a part of my normal running EQF log. Transferring TR files to EQF
is very easy.
>From your normal logging screen, hit (ESC). This will give you the main
menu. From the main menu select the Accessories. From the Accessories and
DOS screen select "Import and Export".
This will bring up FILE-EQF.
When the FILE-EQF screen comes up, the first thing you do is select the
file type you wish to import. Select ASCII, but be careful not to choose
comma delimited. At the bottom of the FILE-EQF screen an input box will
appear asking for the name of the file you wish to import. Enter the name
of the file you have for the text file of TR, usually something like
c:\tr\cqww97p\LOG.DAT.
If you have entered a correct file name and path, the program will ask what
you want to do with it. Select the center option (Default) "LOG-EQF" .
You will be asked what you wish to name the file. I use the same name as
the original TR file with no suffix. (CQWW97P in this case).
The program will then ask you to hit a function key to begin conversion.
It will then present a set of file conversion templates. Select the one
marked "N6TR". Follow the prompts from here. The rest is very intuitive.
Good luck, and if you have any problems with this contact me at

Hello to all,
Just finishing up my "first" contest with N6TR. So far, much better than
CT and much more to learn about TR. One question that I imagine has been
asked before: I use LOG-EQF for my logging program, how do I convert the
LOG.DAT file to import it into LOG-EQF ?????

Well another end to a wonderful contest. We had a couple of problems.
first offabout an hour into the contest we noticed that the date was wrong
by 1 day.
My first question is how do I fix all of the dates?
Second question is we ran into problems getting mults in...we forgot to set
up radio 2 in the program. so we ended up just writing them by hand then
punching them in all at one time, after we had a few to put in.
Question 2: How do I fix the times on these?
Question 3: When I fix the times, how do I make it then fix the numbers of
the Q's or does that really matter?
Anyhow, aside from the normal murphy hangin around stuff (blowing up a
power supply and the computer locking up twice) it all went well, and we
scored 2.1 Million as a M/S from the west coast I enjoyed the heck out of
it.

Easiest thing in the world, Butch. First go to:
http://www.qsl.net/ka5wss/log.htm
and download LOGCONV
This is a program that converts TRLog (and other) files to various
formats, including database format, but perhaps best of all, ADIF.
ADIF is the Amateur Data Interchange Format, and most of the general
logging writers have an ADIF import utility. EQF-Log is one of them,
as N3EQF has been one of the co-developers of ADIF.
On EQF's page at:
http://itis.net/eqf/whatsnew.htm
and
http://itis.net/eqf/faq.htm
are references to his program's support of ADIF.
Importing your logs should be a breeze.
