Several people have sent me mail about "doing a switch box". Some
even indicated that they would go develop one, but I have very little
visibility of what they are really doing.
This message is intended to prevent any of these people from feeling
like I have given them exclusive rights to the design techniques or
some sort of endorsement or whatever...
I think it would be great if someone did develop the "ultimate" switch
box so others can have one. I am willing to make the design concepts
I used available to anyone who wants them (the schematic of my box will
be in the manual thanks to K6XX). I will offer my technical opinion
to anyone who wants it concerning this subject.
However, I don't have the bandwidth to keep track of who is doing what
and make sure nobody is duplicating your efforts and that they won't
be announcing a product similar to the one you are working on.
I offer the use of this reflector as a medium for you to find out what
others are doing. Perhaps the people interested in this can work
together so it isn't too big of a job for anyone, and we all win (for
example - just making all of the cables needed is about half the work).
Maybe one person can do the PC board, another the box, and a third the
cables.
I do know that the existing TR sales team is interested in distributing
such a product, which should also help. Contact K5TR directly if you
are interested. I imagine George will only want to carry one product
(unless they are different enough to have separate applications).
If anyone has any questions regarding this message, PLEASE let me know
so I can clear up any misunderstandings.
I want to prevent anyone getting burned by their good intentions.
