I've made the plunge and acquired a DVP card recently. The board info
reads "DVP Revision B - K1EA Software - Copyright 1992 - s/n 241"
I supposedly have one Kenwood cable and one Icom cable with it.
I am able to make the unit work with my Icom IC-761 and TRLog using
either cable -- they both pass audio. (It seems KW & IC both use pin 1
for mic audio...) The unit sounds pretty good, BTW.
My question is this -- it the PTT switch supposed to work "thru" the
DVP cables, or is this hardware designed for use with VOX *only*?
Neither of my cables seems to pass the PTT switching through. BTW,
these appear to be "official" DVP cables (made by the mfr.)
I realize that I could use TR's keying line to avoid having to use VOX.
I don't really mind using VOX, but would like to have my PTT footswitch
avaiable for when I feel I "need" it.
Are my cables not exactly right, or do DVP's always require use of VOX?
I would appreciate any input. Thanks and CU in NAQP.
