There seems to be some confusion over the points structure in IOTA between
TrLog and EI5DI's SDI software. Paul insists that the RSGB committee
interprets the rules as follows:
I quote
< QSO Points.
Each contact with an IOTA island counts 15 points.
Other contacts count 5 points, except contacts with
the entrant's own country or own IOTA reference,
which counts 2 points.
Irrespective of how this reads, it has been intended,
and interpreted, by the RSGB Contests Committee as meaning
that island stations in an entrant's own country count as
2 points.
Here's a quote from the 1996 IOTA Results booklet.
"A significant number of stations scored islands in their
own country as 15 points and not as 2 points.">
Larry, you might have a look at this and any other users of TrLog during
IOTA might want to do a little editing before submitting logs.
Thanks for the space
Bob, VE3KZ
