During the week I installed a new feedline for my 160 Inverted L antenna and
all seems to be working fine. SWR is flat at 1830.00. I also installed 2 more
receive antennas, A short unterminated wire around 30 deg, which I found that
since it is unterminated, it is a little more broad than the terminated bev and
also receives signals from the opposite direction which gives me the south
pacific and hawaii, and a 500 ft terminated wire around 140 deg ( for South
America and the Carribean ). The 140 deg wire has a 600 ft. RG-6 feedline and
audio is a little low, so I ordered a preamp last night and it just arrived.
Should give all my rcv antennas a good boost finally. I also reworked my NE
terminated beverage and repulled the wire to 45 deg from 60 deg, had to cut a
bunch of small trees and garbage from the woods, but got it done and
reterminated it with a new 1/2 watt 470 ohm resistor and new ground rod ( the
old beverage was done many years ago when I did not have the proper stuff, the
resistor was an 1/8 watt and the ground rod was a mixer for tile grout that i
actually had to tape the end of the resistor to since I couldn't solder to the
mixer (LOL)...

I was doing some testing on the AM broadcast band yesterday and was amazed at
the directivity of my simple wires. I was copying WBT from Charlotte at 10
over 9 on the NE Bev and when going to the NW Bev, the signal would drop to S1
and other stations were audible.

73's and hope to work as many club members as possible. Don't be afraid to
call. I hear very well from this QTH.
